At the opening ceremony, Mayor Frank Klingebiel said: "The time has finally come: today we can open the LIONS Fitness Park for our young and old athletes. Salzgitter-Bad now has one more sporting and tourist highlight to offer. Everyone involved in this project has pulled together. Above all, the Lions Club Salzgitter Schloss Salder as the largest single donor, but also the numerous companies that have co-financed the fitness park as advertising partners, have contributed significantly to the success of this project. A big thank you for that!"
Annette Schudrowitz, Managing Director of BSF, which will operate the fitness park, adds: "Despite the construction delay, the building work has now been completed and we are looking forward to welcoming the first visitors. It's great that we have now been able to realize Edda Alex's idea. I wish all guests lots of fun!"
Nine pieces of equipment from Playpark-Allwetter-Freizeit-Anlagenbau GmbH were installed on site. The SRB was responsible for preparing the area and the complete construction of the fitness park. The following fitness equipment can be found on site: Arm pull-up, push-up, back stretcher, calisthenics all-round, squat with wobble plate, slackline, jumping area, trampoline and a balancing course.
