Salzgitter-Bad: Start of construction for the LIONS Fitnesspark

Salzgitter-Bad is getting a sporting highlight: a fitness park with nine pieces of equipment is being built at the Thermalsolbad with the support of the "Lions-Club Salzgitter-Schloß Salder" and numerous sponsors.

The organizing team (from left to right): Carola Ueberhorst (BSF), Edda Alex (idea provider), Annette Schudrowitz (BSF), Frank Klingebiel (Mayor of the City of Salzgitter), Dr. Thomas Sindern and Jens Bogdan (Lions Club Schloss Salder), Dietrich Leptin (SRB), Dr. Björn Gläser (Tourismusmarketing Salzgitter).

The ground-breaking ceremony for this project was held by Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel, Annette Schudrowitz (Managing Director of "Bäder, Sport und Freizeit GmbH" (BSF)), Dietrich Leptien (Operations Manager of the SRB), Dr. Thomas Sindern (Lions Club Schloß Salder) and Edda Alex, who came up with the idea.

In his welcoming address, Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel said: "Sport is healthy and promotes a sense of community. I am delighted with the successful cooperation between the Lions Club, BSF and the numerous partners who helped finance the project. On the one hand, this shows how important sport is to all of us and, on the other, that we want to make our Sportstadt attractive for citizens and guests. I wish the construction of the fitness park every success."

Annette Schudrowitz, Managing Director of BSF, which will operate the fitness park, adds: "Based on Edda Alex's idea, we have developed a concept for the fitness park together with the city. We were able to cover the total costs of around 86,000 euros with the help of donations from the Lions Club, the support of numerous advertising partners and our own funds. That's what I call a successful project."

Nine pieces of equipment from the company "Playpark-Allwetter-Freizeit-Anlagenbau GmbH" will be installed on site. The SRB is responsible for preparing the area and the complete construction of the fitness park. The following fitness equipment is planned: arm pull-up, push-up, back stretcher, calisthenics all-round, squat with wobble plate, slackline, jumping field, trampoline and a balancing course.

The construction work should be completed by the beginning of October. The inauguration is currently scheduled for October 8.
