As is known, the buildings there were destroyed by a fire on April 8, 2019. It was not economically feasible to preserve the buildings and rebuild them.

Wohnbau Salzgitter acquired the site on the initiative of Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel and will now build a three-storey residential building with 10 apartments and a doctor's surgery on the same site.

Various exemptions from the local building regulations on design of the city of Salzgitter for the preservation and design of the townscape of the old town of Salzgitter-Bad and individual exemptions from the provisions of the development plan Bad 51 for Salzgitter-Bad "Vorsalzer Straße" were required for the new building.
