The state authority for road construction and traffic pointed this out on Thursday in Wolfenbüttel.
The authority also announced that work will begin on Monday, October 4, in the area from Heerte to the landfill site. The asphalt of the cycle path will be renewed here. The carriageway of the L 636 will be closed on one side in sections for this purpose. The work should take a maximum of two weeks.
This will be followed by the renewal of the L 636 from Heerte to Barum, including the existing cycle path, during the fall vacations. The state road will be fully closed for this. A detour route will be set up from Barum via the B 248, continuing via Heinrich-Büssing-Straße, Industriestraße Mitte and via Heerter Straße to Heerte, and vice versa in the opposite direction.
Bus services will also be affected by the closure. Any changes to the timetable will be announced by the bus company.
Following this work, the cycle paths on the L 670 near Gebhardshagen and at the L 636 / K 12 junction (Nord-Süd-Straße) will also be renewed. This work will continue until mid-December. The state authorities will provide further details in good time.
The costs of the overall measure amount to around 520,000 euros and will be borne by the state of Lower Saxony.
The state authority asks the affected road users and residents for their understanding. Weather-related delays are generally possible.
