The roads in Oelbertal are closed

Due to the amphibian migration, the roads in the Oelbertal valley will be closed today and tomorrow, March 25 and 26, and probably also at the weekend if the night temperatures are mild.

Due to the amphibian migration, the roads along the district roads 1, 2 and 54 in the Oelbertal valley between Lichtenberg (from the Burgberg parking lot) and Osterlinde (from the forester's lodge) and Oelber am weißen Wege will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. today and tomorrow, March 25 and 26, and probably also at the weekend if the night temperatures are mild.

The individual road closures themselves are always displayed in good time at the entrances to Lichtenberg, Osterlinde and Oelber a.w.W..

In Lichtenberg and Osterlinde, there are also large, clear detour signs which also show people who are not familiar with the area how to drive around the closed section without any problems and almost simultaneously. Those familiar with the area who want to drive from Lichtenberg to Oelber a. w. Wege should drive via Osterlinde, Westerlinde and Wartjenstedt (federal highway A 39 or district road 40) in the direction of Baddeckenstedt (federal highway 6) to avoid unnecessary detours; the same applies in the opposite direction.

The Lower Nature Conservation Authority of the City of Salzgitter asks commuters working shifts in particular, as well as everyone else, to pay attention to the signs and to understand this important measure to protect species in Salzgitter.
