Decades ago, a particularly creative administrative employee is said to have been involved in choosing the street names. Back then, around the time the town was founded in 1942, Calbecht had no street names, only numbers, and the town council wanted to change this. The head of administration at the time was commissioned to do so.
Street names are usually derived from old field names, honor personalities, show the way, describe it or are based on buildings. This was not the case with Kanzleistraße in Calbecht, as it was not the home of a lawyer or notary.
In the film, Lillie Fach, Calbecht's local historian, explains what once happened and how Kanzleistraße in the village got its name.
