Play along! - Climate heroes in Salzgitter

The Volkshochschule of the city of Salzgitter is once again offering a free vacation program during the summer vacations as part of the "talentCAMPus" (the vacation education concept of the German Volkshochschule Association).

From July 22 to 30 (except Saturday and Sunday), the theme is "Earth fever and medicinal plants" from the project series "Play along! - Climate heroes in Salzgitter". During the Easter vacations, children and young people between the ages of 9 and 15 have been working on the topic of climate change and have designed their own card game.

Now it's time for the second round. Participants embark on an exciting expedition into the world of plants. What healing powers do plants have or what do they have to do with climate change? The children and young people learn about the strengths and survival techniques of plants. They harvest them with care and turn them into bracelets, cold teas and more. In the art workshop, participants can express their creativity with hand lettering, linocuts and more. The highlight will be the design of their own board game. The foundations of the game will be laid through targeted internet research and the development of a game concept with instructions. The game boards will become small works of art in the art workshop.

The course is aimed at 9 to 15-year-olds, has the course number 79555 and takes place at the Kniestedter Herrenhaus in Salzgitter-Bad from 9 am to 4.30 pm.

"talentCAMPus" is a full-day vacation education program that is free of charge and includes meals. There are still a few places available. Registration is possible at the Volkshochschule.
