Üfingen is the northernmost district of Salzgitter and forms a city border with the district of Peine in the northwest. The federal highway 39 runs south of the village.

The district is located on the Salzgitter branch canal and is therefore one of Salzgitter's so-called "canal villages". One of the two locks of this canal for inland waterway vessels is located near Üfingen. There are large areas of agricultural land around the village.
