On the initiative of watch department manager Ingo Beemers, the 18 firefighters from watch department 3 took the sports badge at TSV Leinde for the first time. The challenge cup donated by TSV Leinde for the most sports badges earned in a department went to the firefighters of the professional fire department for the sports badges completed in 2020. The athletes of the Salzgitter professional fire department received high praise for their achievements from their specialist service provider Arne Sicks and the fire department's press spokesman Marcus Spiller.

Ingo Beemers is hoping for even more participants from the fire department in 2021. The gap to the second-placed group from TSV Leinde was noticeably small. The competition for the challenge cup is open.
