Bullying on the internet is a complex issue because these insults and defamations take place in a large virtual space; they can be viewed by strangers and can be accessed and spread at any time.
Cyberbullying is an equally topical issue that requires special knowledge due to the consequences for the victims. It involves the use of apps such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, etc. These are used by children and young people without parents having any insight into what happens there or only finding out later that their own children are victims of cyberbullying or cybergrooming because adults contact them via these apps.
Gesa Stückmann has been working on the topic of "Children & New Media" since 2007, after a client's children were affected by cyberbullying. As a lawyer and mother, she was horrified by what children were doing to other children digitally.
During the 90-minute webinar, she will provide live information on the topics of cyberbullying, the right to one's own image and cybergrooming, including the legal aspects of civil and criminal law. In addition, the lawyer will describe cases from her law firm and give specific recommendations for action. Questions can also be asked.
