Baby consultation for parents

The specialist service for children, youth and family of the city of Salzgitter offers a "baby consultation" for expectant parents and those with babies up to one year old. The consultation is free of charge for all parents from Salzgitter.

Everyday life with an infant can present mothers and fathers with challenges. Crying or sleeping problems, a traumatic birth or general fears and worries about the newborn put a strain on the bond between parents and child. Financial worries or social pressure can also make bonding more difficult.

In the "baby consultation hour", parents are offered a protected space in which they can actively strengthen the bond with their child. They learn to better understand their child's subtle signs and to trust their parental intuition. They also learn how to stay in good contact with their child and themselves in tense situations.
A worrying pregnancy can also put a strain on the mother-child bond. In this case too, the consultation offers a safe space in which the woman concerned can receive support.

The counseling service is based on targeted conversation techniques and body-oriented methods.

Registration for a consultation appointment

The "baby consultation" takes place by appointment either on Fridays at the Protestant Family Education Center in Lebenstedt or on Wednesdays at the Catholic Family Education Center in Salzgitter-Bad.
It is free of charge and anonymous.
