Salzgitter

Query on participation in the Baulückenkataster

Back in 2010, the city of Salzgitter recorded vacant lots in the city area for the first time and asked the owners about their willingness to sell. The result was the vacant lot exchange on the city's website.

Due to the good response as well as the continuing demand for plots to be built on in the short term and an updated mapping of building gaps in 28 of Salzgitter's 31 districts, property owners and part owners are currently being asked by post about their willingness to participate in the new Baulückenkataster.

On the one hand, the Baulückenkataster provides an overview of potential building plots for owner-occupied homes for those willing to build. On the other hand, property owners are given the opportunity to offer their plots to prospective buyers in a short space of time.

The Baulückenkataster thus serves to establish initial contact between owners and those willing to build. Participation is voluntary and free of charge and does not oblige the owner to sell the land.

The City of Salzgitter intends to present the registered building plots on the Internet at www.salzgitter.de/bauluecken (opens in a new tab) from the third quarter of this year.
