As in the previous year, the regional competition of the Salzgitter, Braunschweig and Wolfenbüttel music schools took place online due to the coronavirus pandemic.
That's why the three students were already hard at work a few weeks ago, recording their competition videos with their teacher Anna Godesberg and their piano accompanist Martin Krüger-Düsenberg.
The reward for this commitment:
The youngest of the three, nine-year-old Anna Bombala from Salzgitter Bad, achieved a first prize with 21 points. She wowed the jury with her expressive playing of the Snake Charmer by Hugh and Catherine Colledge and with two fast-paced movements from the demanding Violin Concertos op. 3/9 by Antonio Vivaldi and the Violin Concerto in B minor, op.35 by Oskar Rieding.
Eleven-year-old Lilly Marie Diehl from Söhlde also achieved 21 points and a first prize. She impressed with her virtuoso interpretation of Air varie No.5 by Charles Dancla and the extremely joyful performance of George Perlmann's violin concerto.
Last year, 13-year-old Anna Lichtblau from Salzgitter-Bad worked her way through three very different pieces: the Violin Concerto in G minor by Antonio Vivaldi, the Violin Concerto in A major by Anatoli Komarowski and the Air varie No.2 by Charles Dancla. Particularly beautiful were the dynamic facets, her sovereignty and good intonation even in the high registers on her instrument. She was awarded 20 points and a second prize for her expressive playing.
The music school team and their teacher are proud of the three students and wish them continued success and fun with their instruments.
