Salzgitter industrial management: Announcement of mapping for publication

As part of the Salzgitter industrial line, TenneT is planning to reinforce the extra-high voltage grid (380 kilovolts) in the area of the city of Salzgitter/Peine district in order to increase the connection capacity for the Salzgitter AG and Volkswagen AG plants in the course of planned production conversions.

Specifically, the construction of a new substation near the load centers of the aforementioned companies is planned.

In addition, TenneT is planning the construction of a 380 kV overhead line to connect with the Wahle-Mecklar line (specifically: Wahle-Lamspringe). This will require the construction of a switchgear to connect the two lines at the crossing point with the 380 kV Wahle-Lamspringe line.

The Salzgitter industrial line supplies electricity from renewable energies for the green industry of tomorrow. This also makes it an essential element of the grid expansion in the Hanover-Braunschweig-Göttingen-Wolfsburg Metropolregion.
