Landtagswahl in Lower Saxony: Constituency 11 goes to Stefan Klein

With 49.29 percent of the votes cast, Stefan Klein won constituency 11 (Salzgitter) in the Landtagswahl in Lower Saxony and will serve another five-year term in the state parliament.

In the second vote, the SPD came out on top with 39.94% compared to the CDU with 20.95%. The AfD followed in third place with 18.37%. They were followed by the Greens with 8.32%, the Die Linke with 3.49% and the FDP with 3.34%.

The district electoral committee still has to officially confirm the results.

The city of Salzgitter was divided into two constituencies for the 2022 Landtagswahl. By far the largest part, together with the municipality of Lengede (district of Peine), formed constituency 11. The smaller part of Salzgitter with the towns of Süd and Südost was merged with parts of the district of Wolfenbüttel to form constituency 10 Wolfenbüttel-Süd/Salzgitter. The district returning officer for constituency 11 was the city of Salzgitter and for constituency 10 the district of Wolfenbüttel.
