Salzgitter

General decree issued on compulsory measles vaccination

The so-called "Measles Protection Act" came into force on March 1, 2020 as a regulation within the Infection Protection Act.

By July 31, 2022, all persons born after 1970 who are cared for or employed in community facilities had to provide proof of full vaccination protection.

These include kindergartens, schools, refugee accommodation and day care providers. They also include medical facilities, for example hospitals or doctors' surgeries. This must be documented to the management of the relevant facility.

The city of Salzgitter has now issued a general decree and published it in the Amtsblatt of July 29, 2022, which obliges all affected facilities and companies to use the central reporting portal of the state of Lower Saxony "Mebi"(www.mebi-niedersachsen.de) (opens in a new tab) for corresponding reports from Monday, August 1. Reports in any other form will not be accepted.

The information from the portal can be transferred directly to the databases of the public health department for further processing.
