Salzgitter

FFP2 mask requirement for gatherings

On the instructions of the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior, the city of Salzgitter has issued a general decree requiring all participants in gatherings to wear an FFP-2 mask with immediate effect.

Current - 14.01.2021!

This general ruling was extended on January 14 until February 2!

This obligation applies to all participants, leaders and stewards of announced and non-announced open-air gatherings. Mouth and nose protection of at least FFP 2, KN 95 or an equivalent level of protection must be worn. Exempt from this obligation are persons with pre-existing medical conditions (proof must be carried) and children up to the age of six. Children from six to 14 years of age must wear a mouth-nose cover of any kind (e.g. medical mask). FFP masks are compulsory from the age of 14. This obligation initially applies up to and including Saturday, January 15, 2022 (the review of the extension of this measure has not yet been completed).

The city of Salzgitter implements the instruction of the Ministry of the Interior as the lower assembly authority. The legal basis for the measures is Section 8 (1) of the Lower Saxony Assembly Act (NVersG). According to this, the competent authority can restrict an open-air assembly in order to prevent an immediate threat to public safety or order. The regulation is to be issued as a general order, as numerous assemblies with various organizers take place in the area of the city of Salzgitter. In the case of undeclared assemblies as well as urgent and spontaneous assemblies, the assembly authority cannot discuss infection protection in a cooperation meeting and, if possible, ensure it on this basis.
