Salzgitter

Salder Castle Municipal Museum presents huaxtec objects

Now they are also accessible to the interested public: the small Huaxtec sculptures and objects from the city of Tampico in Mexico recently found in the museum depot of the Salder Castle Municipal Museum.

The city of Salzgitter wants them to be returned to their country of origin as soon as possible. They have been given their own display case in the municipal museum.

Until further notice, the fascinating and historically valuable 73 objects can be viewed by interested visitors in the entrance area in front of the "Kuhstall" special exhibition building. An additional panel explains how the items once came to Salzgitter around 1900 and places them in their cultural context. Admission to the small special presentation is free - as is generally the case in the museum.

The Salder Castle Municipal Museum is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm and on Sundays and public holidays from 11 am to 5 pm.
