Rap workshop: Creative self-expression

From Monday, April 4 to Friday, April 8, anyone who not only wants to consume rap but also produce it themselves has the chance to learn and develop their rap and beat skills.

Rap is undoubtedly one of the most popular music genres of our time. Especially for young people, rap has an enormous appeal.

The five-day workshop in the Kulturscheune in Lebenstedt was organized by the City of Salzgitter's cultural department in cooperation with the socially oriented project "k-now-ledge".

Under professional guidance, young people between the ages of 12 and 18 have the opportunity to consciously engage with their environment, develop their first creative ideas, write lyrics, learn the basics of music and develop their (stage) presence. The course is suitable for both beginners and advanced students.
Using lyrics, flows and melodies they have developed themselves, the participants spend five days working towards a song recording in the recording studio or a live performance.

The "k-now-ledge" project clearly distances itself from genre-typical topics such as discrimination, glorification of drugs and violence and focuses on creative self-reflection and further development.

The workshop instructor is Andreas Bucklisch - musician, hip-hop activist, experienced workshop leader and founder of the "k-now-ledg" project.

Participation is free of charge. Further information on the workshop and registration is available at the link below or by e-mail at natalia.schmidtstadt.salzgitterde and by telephone on 05341 / 839-4130.
