Three motions were also passed that deal with the further development of the Salzgittersee. The paths around Salzgittersee will be renovated. The focus here is on the inner ring. The sections requiring the most urgent refurbishment will be drawn up by the municipal management company (SRB) and presented to the Council for a decision.
The administration has also been commissioned to present the council with a concept for the creation of a sports and fitness area to the east of the public toilet at the Pirate Playground. In this context, it is also to be determined which locations are most suitable for the construction of a covered artificial turf pitch in the eastern area of Salzgittersee, between the Pirate Playground and the Stadtbad.
The city parliament also approved the continuation of the youth workshop at the SOS Mothers' Center in Salzgitter up to and including 31.03.2025. This has been in existence since 1997. It complements the municipal youth workshop and has since expanded the range of support and assistance on offer. Thanks to its very successful work, the SOS Mothers' Center's youth workshop has been an important network partner in Salzgitter's field of youth vocational assistance for many years. The youth workshop is also an important addition to the Salzgitter Youth Employment Agency.
The council was also informed about a location review in Salzgitter-Bad, Nord-Süd-Straße 1, for the health department. "Accession of the City of Salzgitter to the Bicycle-Friendly Municipality Working Group" is a further communication that the committee will be informed about.
At the end of the meeting, there were motions and questions from the parliamentary groups. The current and detailed agenda can be viewed in the citizen information system at salzgitter.de.
