There stands a sphinx. It is missing its nose and left breast and has an eventful history behind it. It began in 1718 when Charlotte Eleonore von Schwicheldt took over an estate in Salzgitter-Flachstöckheim after inheritance disputes.
Flachstöckheim's local historian Petra Strobach reports on the exciting past of the Sphinx, which is modeled on the Egyptian original from Giza. You can find out why it was later beheaded in the film from the town's Medienzentrum.
