Salzgitter

Special art experience during the vacations

"Experience art in Salzgitter": This was the title of the talentCAMPus organized by the Salzgitter Volkshochschule at the Kniestedter Herrenhaus.

16 boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 15 had great fun during the lessons and activities and went on a special search for traces under the guidance of Maximilian Sieker.

The girls and boys were out and about in Salzgitter-Bad on the "Kunststraße zum Hören" and learned lots of new things about the individual works of art. They were then able to present this knowledge in a quiz.... The objects were then photographed for the planned memory and the original photo was juxtaposed with a newly decorated photo. In this way, a wide variety of photos were created for a unique memory. Back at the Kniestedt manor house, the memory cards and boards for their own memory game, including the game board, were designed.

Their own creativity was then also called for when they created their own objects from clay and papier-mâché. In the workshop of the Volkshochschule, a wide variety of works of art were created for young and old.

The artistic side of things continued with a visit to Salder Castle. In addition to lots of information in and around the castle, the girls and boys were given an introduction to soapstone carving by museum educator Christine Kellner-Depner. Here too, individual works of art were created, which the group enthusiastically took away with them.

At the end of this varied vacation time, the participants left the Volkshochschule enthusiastic and with many of their own works of art.
