Certificates awarded to educational assistants

Supporters on their way to kindergarten and school. Elke Ferfers, Head of the Children, Youth and Family Department of the City of Salzgitter, has now presented thirteen multilingual graduates of a training course for educational assistants with their certificates and certificates of attendance.

They had been taking part in the training course since June 10, 2021. The measure comprised almost one hundred hours of lessons as well as a 32-hour internship in a daycare center.

In addition to learning theoretical content, such as the basics of early childhood education and care, they also gained an insight into practice by putting their skills and newly acquired knowledge into practice in various areas of childcare.

With their final certificate, the participants can now work as group leaders in playgroups and use their acquired knowledge to support children from families with particular barriers to accessing the education system. Families with migration experience in particular can benefit from the multilingual childcare services, as this makes it easier for them to enter childcare and the education system.

The specialist service is already planning a new offer

The specialist service is already planning to offer a further training course for educational assistants in the course of the year. This will once again be a measure that is funded as part of the federal program "Kita-Einstieg: Brücken bauen in frühe Bildung".

This is a program of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ).

The start date will then be announced by the specialist department for children, youth and family on the Salzgitter city website.
