Salzgitter

Antolin competition of the city library ended

The city library's Antolin competition came to an end with a closing party on Friday, August 25.

It took place from July 3 to August 18, 2023. Antolin is an online portal on the internet. Here, children can answer questions about books they have read at www.antolin.de and collect points on a points account.

80 children from 1st to 4th grade actively read during the vacations and collected points on their points account. Together they read 1,505 books and 728 knowledge texts. A total of 47,329 Antolin points were collected.

Reading was the main focus, but there were also great events and club meetings on offer for the children to sweeten the competition and vacation period.

The following events were organized:

  • Animal shelter tour
  • Fairground party
  • Making art albums at the Salder Museum
  • Forest and explorer day
  • Sustainable handicraft morning

The events were very well received and some were fully booked within a short space of time.

At the closing party, there was a small, colorful program for the children before they received their certificates and prizes. As every single book read is a great achievement for children, all children received a certificate, a medal and a small prize. The best readers in each grade received an extra prize and a trophy.

The schools of the class winners received a challenge cup for the first time this year. This is awarded anew every year and travels through Salzgitter's elementary school. The trophy was donated by the Bibliotheksgesellschaft e.V..

The following schools received the trophies:

Class 1: Paul - Grundschule am Sonnenberg

Class 2: Fabienne - Steterburg elementary school

Class 3: Emily Sophie - Waldschule elementary school

Class 4: Sofie - Steterburg elementary school
