The human figure, the body, is the main motif in Susanne Hesch's artistic work. Now, after five years, the artist, who comes from Salzgitter and lives in Braunschweig, is exhibiting new paintings. The exhibition presents an excerpt from a body of work created in 2022 during a scholarship from the state of Lower Saxony.
The figures in Susanne Hesch's paintings are located in landscapes that are not clearly defined. Sometimes they are exposed to hostile, or at least uncertain, conditions. They deal with the question of control, the freedom of action, the connection between people and things and circumstances.
They are figures between courage and vulnerability, trying to find their place. The title "ready or not" is a plea for imperfection, the unadorned and direct in human existence.
Susanne Hesch studied art at the HBK Braunschweig, is a member of the BBK Braunschweig, spokesperson for the salzgitter-gruppe artists' association and regularly exhibits in the region.
Anyone interested is invited to the exhibition opening. The exhibition in the Tillyhaus can be seen until July 9 during the opening hours of the Tillyhaus (Marienplatz 12). The opening hours are Thursdays from 2 to 6 pm and Sundays from 1 to 5 pm. Admission is free of charge.
