"The earth is subject to us, we have everything that man needs and what no man needs, we have twice and three times over. We get to the remotest corners of the world, to the deepest depths, to the highest peaks, we get to the moon, to Mars, but there's one thing we don't get to: the idea of pausing for a moment to ask ourselves: where is it all going?
Because no matter what we have, we need MORE! Logically: "Give it to me" sounds much more dynamic than: "I've managed quite well without it so far".

The growth dogma is irrefutable, driving us faster, higher, further on the open-ended must-have scale. It costs money to rest, and costs are the only thing we are happy to do without.
Banking crisis, lockdown, stock market crash - nothing can dampen the consumer climate index. Things that our parents had no idea would ever exist seem indispensable to us: computers, smartphones, unlimited data volume, leaf blowers, underpants that make music, room spray with chicken soup aroma and eggshell crackers.
