So far, around 2.5 kilometers of the route have been renewed. This was announced by the state authority for road construction and traffic.

The next section will begin this week. The roadway will be renewed over a distance of 2.6 kilometers from the end of Salzgitter-Bad to the entrance to Salzgitter-Beinum. The existing cycle path will also be renovated, but cycle traffic will still be able to
traffic for the entire construction period. Federal highway 248 will remain fully closed to all other traffic.

The detour is signposted to the federal highway 248 towards Braunschweig from Salzgitter-Bad via the state highway 472 and the district highway 12 to the district highway 30 to Salzgitter-Watenstedt and then back onto the federal highway 248 towards Braunschweig. Traffic on the B248 towards Seesen and Salzgitter-Bad will be diverted in the opposite direction.

The Goslar division of the state authority asks all road users to show mutual consideration and understanding for the necessary construction work and the associated disruption and inconvenience.
