The exhibition will be opened by Ulf Zillmann, Mayor of Gotha, and Christian Striese, Second Mayor of Salzgitter.

The exhibition honors the 35th anniversary of the town twinning between Gotha and Salzgitter. The town twinning between Gotha and Salzgitter is the oldest town twinning between Lower Saxony and Thuringia. The twinning document between Gotha and Salzgitter was signed in Gotha in November 1988, just one year before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Over the past 35 years, many friendships have developed between Gotha and Salzgitter.

Anyone interested is invited to the exhibition opening. The exhibition in the Salder Castle Municipal Art Collection (Museumstraße 34) can be seen until July 16. Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm. Admission is free of charge.

Information about the artists:

Luise von Rohden and Bettina Schünemann are exhibiting their work under the title "Different Textures". The artists will be present at the vernissage.

Luise von Rohden (born 1990) was born in Gotha. When looking at her work, viewers are reminded of works of concrete art, constructivism and minimal art. Although her works are created with brush and ink on paper, they are extremely delicate and of great technical perfection.

Bettina Schünemann (born 1961 in Barßel) lives and works in Gotha. Maps and topographies often form the source material for her artistic works. In them, the artist is less concerned with scientific than with aesthetic precision.

Both artists work with constructed coincidence. Both have recurring motifs or variations of motifs that are strung together in different textures. The inner structure, the context, is what makes the different textures, not just the artists' different working methods.
