Detectives Max Leitner and Tobias Heuward are called to a crime scene: The painter Malte Decker is found dead in Hanover-Linden. The painter, who was both famous and talented, led a dissolute life, which he financed with art forgeries. The detectives soon find themselves caught up in an impenetrable web of artists, forgers and murderers who are caught between alternative lifestyles and high finance worth millions.
