The plot: The protagonist Emily travels to Cornwall to discuss the film adaptation of Ryan Scott's bestseller. Things keep escalating between the two of them. Emily is on the verge of abandoning the project. But she hesitates, as she is dependent on the fee. What she doesn't know is that Ryan's daughter has leukemia and urgently needs expensive treatment in the USA. He is also dependent on the fee.

By the end of the project, they are both hopelessly in love with each other. But they can't be together. It is only years later that they meet again in the garden by the Helford River and wonder whether their love now has a chance.

Author Whitmore has four passions: England, her dogs, the theater and writing. She lives with her family in Westphalia, where she founded the independent Theater an der Volme in 2011 and has been running it with her husband ever since. Since 2017, she has been writing novels about big emotions. Her love of England and old walls often form the backdrop for her protagonists.

Pre-registration for the reading is required and is possible by calling 05341 / 839-3434 or sending an email to stadtbibliothekstadt.salzgitterde. Admission costs 5 euros in advance and 8 euros at the box office. Tickets are available at the Lebenstedt and Salzgitter-Bad public libraries.
