Salzgitter

Into the new year with "Grüffelo"

Children can look forward to the play "Grüffelo" on Sunday, January 15, as the City of Salzgitter's cultural department kicks off the new year. For adults, the music year starts with Till Seidel on January 20.

About the content of the children's theater (for children aged 4 and over) in the "No Sunday like any other" series on Sunday, January 15, in the Kniestedter Church in Salzgitter-Bad: The forest is full of dangers. So it's good to have a strong friend. And if you don't have one, you have to invent one. Like the little mouse who threatens anyone who tries to eat him with the terrible Grüffelo. But this creature with the terrible claws, rolling eyes and long teeth doesn't actually exist. Or is there? "Der Grüffelo" is now a true children's book classic. It has been translated into 26 languages and sold a million copies.

This story is about how you can hold your own as a "little one" in the world of the "big ones" if you just use your imagination. Tickets are available at the box office for five euros. Please register in writingantje.fischerstadt.salzgitterde.

Till Seidel can also be heard in the Kniestedt church on Friday, January 20 (from 8 pm). The former sideman and guitarist has been on the road with his own band and under his own name since 2015. What began as a young hope of the blues is now a real house number in the national rhythm 'n' blues and soul scene.

Playing the blues today and filling it with life means preserving history and yet not closing oneself off to new things. His band and he mix the most diverse influences of American music and transport them into the present day.

As well as performing all over Germany, the Hildesheim native has already made a name for himself in the Californian music scene.

January ends on a musical note with San Glaser on Saturday, January 28 (8 pm Kniestedter Kirche):

Her new album "The Other Side Of The San" is not just a play on words, but here San Glaser, after four albums of original compositions, shows a different musical side of herself. "Songs from the Great American Songbook".

When she takes to the stage, one thing is immediately clear: this is a star with charm and verve, an exceptional singer who every audience follows unconditionally after the first few bars. Charm and nonchalance, effervescent energy and brashness, melancholy and longing. San Glaser skillfully combines all of this in her interplay with her musicians on stage. Not one moment is inferior to the other in anything and yet always remains unique. Jazz and soul, with pop and folk influences. All linked by small, personal stories. All in all: musical magic and pure authenticity!
