Salzgitter

New explanatory plaque for monument to the city's history

It stands carved in marble and cast in bronze in the center of Lebenstedt's pedestrian zone - the monument to the town's history.

The new explanatory sign on the monument to the city's history.

Salzgitter's landmark, the monument to the city's history, was created by Braunschweig sculptor Professor Jürgen Weber and presented to the public in 1995. With it, the town acknowledges its and Germany's contemporary history.

Many visitors who cross the Blumentriften in Salzgitter to go shopping or simply to stroll around often wonder what stories the individual figures on the monument tell.

This is why there has been an explanatory plaque near the Stadtmonument for years. In the meantime, it had become outdated. With the redesign of the square in the middle of which the monument stands, this information board was also renewed this year.

The individual segments of the monument are described briefly and informatively on the plaque.
