For one week, the Medienzentrum team accompanied the participants in their creative activities and provided a small insight into the musical production process, which also included the teaching of social skills.
In the interview, one participant describes her positive experience on the course. She reports that she took a lot away with her and how important it is to find and express your own voice.
The workshop leader Andreas Bucklisch also has his say in the film. He promoted social skills such as cooperation, communication and respect. By working in groups and exchanging ideas, the participants were able to learn how to interact with each other. Andreas Bucklisch also taught them how to analyze and interpret texts in order to understand the meaning behind the lines. The writing process, from finding ideas to structuring the text and working out rhymes, was an important part of the course.
Seven young people had the chance to let off steam creatively in a course under professional guidance. The rap workshop was organized by the culture department and offered much more than just musical activities. The participants learned to consciously engage with their environment and develop their own ideas. The course was suitable for everyone, regardless of experience or ability. The absolute highlight was recording the specially developed song in the city's recording studio.
