Salzgitter

Council meeting on November 29

At its meeting on November 29, the city council approved the accession of the city of Salzgitter as a founding member of the Wasserstoff-Campus Salzgitter and the statutes for the founding of the corresponding association.

Mayor Frank Klingebiel: "With the establishment of the Salzgitter Hydrogen Campus on the Robert Bosch GmbH site in John-F.-Kennedy-Straße in Salzgitter, a flagship project has been realized that will have an impact far beyond the city limits." The SüdOstNiedersachsen project office, represented by the Office for Regional Development, MAN, Alstom, Bosch, the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft and the Mayor of Salzgitter have jointly developed the Salzgitter Hydrogen Campus together with WEVG and with the support of the Alliance for the Region, Braunschweig Technical University and the Business and Innovation Promotion Agency.

In the further course of the meeting, in addition to the new version of the sports funding guidelines, the city parliament also approved a waiver of special usage fees for the CityLebenstedt advertising association. According to the advertising association, the event industry was and continues to be particularly hard hit economically by the sometimes massive restrictions in recent years (in particular access restrictions due to 2G and 3G Plus measures, limits on numbers and a ban on events).

The city parliament was informed about the 2022 care report, the arm immersion pool at the graduation pavilion and the purchase program in the Salzgitter-Watenstedt district.

The meeting concluded with motions and questions from the parliamentary groups. The current and detailed agenda can be viewed in the council information system.
