It has been produced by the city's Press and Public Relations Department primarily for those who like to pick up a paper information booklet and don't just want to find out about their home town on the internet.

The 63 pages provide an initial guide to where to find which authorities, advice centers, social services and much more in the city and how to get there.
The addresses of hospitals, the hospice, educational institutions and cultural facilities have also been compiled here.

This brochure is not the only way to "get to know" Salzgitter. Anyone who is new to the city will get an initial overview of the city's history, the economy, Salzgitter as the city with the largest current transformation of local industry to climate-friendly production, tips for excursions, the varied art and cultural scene or the many sports facilities. It also presents the city's political bodies, as well as the six romantic places where couples can get married.

The brochure also contains lots of interesting and new information for "old Salzgitter residents".
The booklet is available free of charge from the two BürgerCenters in the town hall in Lebenstedt and the "Kleines Rathaus" in Salzgitter-Bad as well as from the tourist information office in Salzgitter-Bad. New residents receive it automatically when they register.
