Amendment to street cleaning statutes from 2023 adopted

At its meeting on 21.12.2022, the Salzgitter City Council resolved to amend the street cleaning statutes of the City of Salzgitter with effect from 01.01.2023. With this amendment, some streets in the city of Salzgitter will be connected to the public street cleaning system for the first time.

These are the streets "Kiebitzweg" in Salzgitter-Bad, "Erich-Söchting-Straße" and "Hans-Birnbaum-Straße" in Salzgitter-Engelnstedt, "Johanes-Wosnitza-Straße" in Salzgitter-Gebhardshagen, "Seerosenweg" in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt as well as "Am Wasserturm", "An der Zwergenkuhle", "Linnenberg" and "Sierscher Weg" in Salzgitter-Thiede.

In the newly connected streets, property owners will be informed in the first and second week of February 2023 by means of an information letter posted by Städtischer Regiebetrieb (SRB). Further information can also be found on the Internet(www.salzgitter.de) (opens in a new tab).

When the roads are connected to the public road cleaning system, the road surface will be cleaned by the municipal road maintenance company. Street cleaning charges are levied for cleaning the roadways. The corresponding fee notices will be sent to property owners in the coming months.

The owners of the adjacent properties are responsible for cleaning the sidewalks.
