Salzgitter

Rübenburgen - stately villas from the Wilhelminian era

In the latest episode of the popular "Salzgitter Secrets" series, the city of Salzgitter's Medienzentrum is out and about in Salzgitter-Reppner with the city's heritage conservation officer Christoph Lücke.

One of the two beet castles in Reppner.

The first mention of the village can be found in a document from the diocese of Minden, which was issued between 1140 and 1147. In this document, the Bishop of Minden transferred his property in Reppner to the Minden Martinistift. On April 1, 1942, Reppner became part of the large town of Watenstedt-Salzgitter, which was renamed Salzgitter in 1951.

Monument protection officer of the city Christoph Lücke.

Since the end of the 19th century, there have been two so-called turnip castles or turnip palaces in Reppner. Two magnificent villas that are not only visually different from the rest of the district's architecture. Expert Christoph Lücke explains what this is all about in the film.
