Experiencing the forest through play - talentCAMPus inspires participants

It was that time again during the fall vacations. The Volkshochschule of the city of Salzgitter organized a talentCAMPus with the theme "Experience the forest" from 16 to 20 October.

Drying flowers, painting a flower press or designing their own games: The participants of the talentCAMPus experienced a varied vacation week.

Eight girls and nine boys spent a week exploring the forest and seeing what they could find in the woods and meadows. They were supported by Maximilian, Zahraa and an employee of the city of Salzgitter from the "Experience nature for families" department.

The participants had a lot of fun collecting the plants, which were dried with the help of a flower press and then placed in a herbarium. The flower press was painted in the Volkshochschule's art workshop. The girls and boys also designed their own game. Game boards, game boxes, game pieces and decorations for their own game were painted with great attention to detail. The kids were able to really let off steam in the art workshop and also incorporate some of the forest treasures they had collected into the game.

Another special feature of this first vacation week was the visit to the bison enclosure in Springe to see all the animals of the local wildlife that you don't necessarily see here.

Another special feature of this first vacation week was the visit to the bison enclosure in Springe to see all the animals of the local wildlife that you don't necessarily see here. At the end of the week, all participants and the team of instructors were satisfied with what they had experienced and the finished products. And some already wanted to know what will be offered during the next vacation....

The cooperation partners this time were the Salzgitter municipal library and the Hamberg children's and youth club in Salzgitter-Bad.
