Salzgitter

Secret Santa campaign and mini calendar

The city library wants to brighten up the time until Christmas with an original campaign. During the Advent season, the city library will be transformed into a walk-in Advent calendar at all three...

Whoever finds the elf gets to keep it.

Every day in the run-up to Christmas - starting on December 1 - a Christmas gnome is hidden somewhere on the shelves of the city library in Lebenstedt, Fredenberg and Salzgitter Bad. Whoever finds the elf gets to keep it.

The city library team would be delighted if the finder could take a photo of the Secret Santa at its hiding place and send it to the email address lesefoerderungstadt.salzgitterde so that the Secret Santa campaign can be reported on social media such as Instagram or the city library blog.

"The idea of the campaign is to encourage visitors young and old to take a look at the entire building and discover the variety of media and offers on the shelves in addition to the cuddly gnomes," says Sylvia Fiedler, head of the city library.

So it's worth taking a look around the departments and shelves every opening day in December, Sylvia Fiedler continues. "Even if you don't find a Secret Santa, you'll realize how pleasant and inspiring a visit to the city library is," she says confidently, hoping for lots of curious "Secret Santa hunters".

To ensure that all visitors have a chance of finding a Wichtel, the Wichtels will be placed alternately at different times throughout the day.

At the same time as the Secret Santa campaign, the city library will once again surprise readers this year with mini Advent calendars. They will be handed out - while stocks last - at the lending desk to anyone who borrows something.
