Salzgitter

Sagging in the Marktstraße in SZ-Bad

Last Saturday, September 28, the pavement on Marktstraße in SZ-Bad was found to be sagging in the area of a gutter near the construction site at Klesmerplatz.

On the same day, the damaged area was cordoned off after consultation with WEVG and Abwasserentsorgung Salzgitter GmbH (ASG). Yesterday, Monday, at an on-site meeting, the building regulations department of the city of Salzgitter decided to open up the pavement at the site of the subsidence. It was assumed that the damage was caused by rainwater washing out the gutter.

This assumption has been confirmed. Today, Tuesday, October 1st, the damaged area was filled with a mineral mixture and sand, the gutter was repaired and the paving restored. The barrier was removed again after the work was completed.

In conclusion, city planning officer Michael Tacke emphasizes: "We were unable to establish any connection with the neighbouring construction site on Klesmerplatz."
