The delicious kick-off event was the start of further joint events and projects between the senior citizens' office and the WoWieTreff in the Am Strumpfwinkel senior citizens' meeting place. The two organizations have already been working closely together for some time on the "Local alliances for people with dementia" project, so it made sense to intensify the good cooperation and implement joint projects.
Senior citizens living alone in particular make use of the lively senior citizens' meeting place in Lebenstedt to have a good time in company "together instead of alone".
Various small groups have formed here to regularly do handicrafts, play games or "do sports". "Or all together", as the participants reported with a laugh.
The Seniorentreff has been around for around 15 years and visitors enjoy taking part in the activities on offer, such as breakfast, bingo, smartphone courses and gymnastics.
Whether daily or more occasional, whether in a fixed group or a relaxed atmosphere, it is important to create offers for people to counteract being alone, because this also opens up new contacts, contact persons and sources of information who can provide timely support if questions arise or a need for support arises.
The next event organized by the senior citizens' office and the WoWieTreff is an Advent get-together on November 27 from 2.30 to 4 pm at the WoWieTreff in Lessingstraße 17A, Lebenstedt.
