Over the course of the week, network operator Avacon will begin extensive construction work to renovate the gas pipeline in Frankfurter Straße (B248) in Salzgitter-Thiede. The gas pipeline will be renewed over a length of around 600 meters, starting in the south at the entrance to the town and ending at the junction with Schwarzer Weg. In the course of the construction work, 15 gas service connections will also be renewed. The affected households will be informed of this in writing.
The pipeline is being laid using the open construction method, which means that Frankfurter Straße will only be passable to a limited extent and will be equipped with a traffic light system. Traffic disruptions are to be expected as a result.
Avacon asks residents and road users for their understanding for these temporary restrictions and recommends using alternative routes to avoid delays.
The construction work is expected to be completed in around three months.
