About the content:

The action takes place in Munich-Schwabing in 1958: Gerda Branniger is in the starting blocks to take over the family hop empire. She has been preparing for this all her life. What she encounters, however, is the zeitgeist of the Adenauer years. Traditional family and role models characterize the young Federal Republic. And so the tough Gerda is suddenly faced with the completely unqualified brother as managing director, who rejects this position for his own reasons and simply disappears, just like her father.

Finally, sister Liesel also lays claim to the manager's chair - for her husband. Gerda has only one ally in this unequal struggle: her friend Billie, an engineer who has been fighting for recognition in a man's world for years. But while Billie's fight only involves the regular threat of dismissal, Gerda's centuries-old family legacy is soon at stake...

With her book "The Legacy of Our Time", author Clara Lindemann follows up "The Black Winter" with another work set against a contemporary historical backdrop and once again impresses as an expert on the history of dictatorship, persecution and war, forced laborers, bombs and cities in ruins.

About the author:

Clara Lindemann was born in Munich in 1967. She left Germany at the age of 20 to study and live abroad. She now lives in Germany again and is committed to equal rights and diversity.
