Salzgitter

Music school of the city of Salzgitter successful at Jugend musiziert

Matilda Plaschke (recorder) and the piano duo Henri Dorsch & Zi Han Jayden Sun win first prizes at the regional Jugend musiziert competition in Wolfenbüttel.

Matilda Plaschke is delighted about her successful participation in Jugend musiziert.

In the "wind instruments" solo category, Matilda Plaschke (aged nine) took on the challenge of the competition for the first time in age group 1b on the recorder. Accompanied by Ulrich Petter on the grand piano and well prepared by her teacher Annette Boenkendorf, she played a varied program by James Hook, Georg Philipp Telemann, Louis Andriessen and Almut Werner.

Matilda demonstrated her skills on the soprano and alto recorder and impressed the jury, who rewarded her with 25 points.

Henri Dorsch and Zi Han Jayden Sun are delighted about their successful participation in Jugend musiziert.

Shared joy is double the joy:

Henri Dorsch (nine years old) and Zi Han Jayden Sun (seven years old) won first prize in the "Piano Duo" category of the regional Jugend musiziert competition with 21 points. For their four-handed performance, they had prepared works by Ludwig van Beethoven, István Szelényi, Cornelius Gurlitt and Eugénie Rocherolle.

Individual performance is not the main focus of ensemble playing. Rather, it represents the reliable basis for secure interaction between the individual participants - a real challenge and specific skill, especially at such a young age. Henri and Jayden have taken on these challenges and, in addition to their own practicing and individual lessons, have also completed additional joint rehearsals with their piano teacher Donny Lobisch-Ehlert in order to be as well prepared as possible for their competition. The joy of their joint first prize is immense.

The music school team would like to congratulate the young musicians and the young musician on this success.
