For over ten years, the city of Salzgitter has been supporting daycare centers in their educational mission to promote children's language development. In 2011, the municipal education project "Sprache und Sprechen Leben" was launched by Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel. The aim: equal opportunities and education for children in terms of personal development.

In order to show how the daycare centers have developed in the meantime as part of this project, the municipal specialist service for children, youth and families invited experts from Salzgitter to the Catholic Family Education Center in Lebenstedt. Representatives from daycare providers, daycare centers, family centers, daycare providers, network partners from the education sector and early help, as well as experts from the city administration and other interested parties accepted the invitation. The results of the current evaluation of the project were presented. The specialist service had carried out the scientific review in order to document how the 50 Salzgitter daycare centers implement this process for everyday integrated language education and support in practice.

The guests used the event not only to gather information, but also to exchange ideas with each other. The daycare centers in particular were able to network on this day and take plenty of ideas back into practice. The visitors were amazed at the variety of presentations and content. From theoretical content to self-experiments, everything was represented, such as exercises on oral motor skills, self-designed hidden object books, discussed picture cards, self-filmed videos and much more.

This event was a cooperation between the City of Salzgitter's daycare center advisory service, the auditors Susanne Standke and Melanie Hönig and the daycare centers, especially the language multiplication staff.
Answers were given to questions such as: What does the implementation of the project look like in the reality of the kindergartens? How, when and how is everyday integrated language education and language support actually implemented and what does everyday integrated actually mean?
