Wolfsburg, June 24, 2024 - Showcasing volunteers and their tireless efforts: That is the aim of the MUWI film competition, which the non-profit community broadcaster TV38 is now calling for. Participants from the entire broadcasting area, i.e. Region 38 plus Peine, should now use their smartphones to film people who volunteer for our region. There are non-cash prizes with a total value of 6500 euros to be won.
The competition is named after MUWI, the mascot of the regional TV station. This was born after numerous suggestions in a joint workshop between the TV38 board and the full-time team. Saskia Hoog, Member of the Marketing Board, and Managing Director Jürgen Stricker are convinced: "Our friendly filming raccoon will get even more people interested in filmmaking and our citizen broadcaster. MUWI is now starting to drum up publicity for our film competition. There could hardly be a better debut as a mascot." MUWI is advertising the competition not only on TV38 channels such as cable TV, at www.tv38.de and on social media, but also on advertising pillars and elsewhere in the region.
Fred Bärbock, CEO of TV38 e.V., explains why volunteering is the focus of the MUWI film competition. "What would our region be without the many volunteers? TV38 also lives from and for passions that are voluntary and charitable, which in our case promote regional citizens' television, information and diversity of opinion. With our competition, film enthusiasts can now pay special tribute to their local volunteers, to volunteering in general."
All participants have the chance to win high-quality prizes donated by the Hans and Helga Eckensberger Foundation from Braunschweig. The top five winners will receive great technology packages, ranging from high-quality smartphones, ring lights and cell phone tripods to green screens and gimbals. In addition, ten sets of two specialist books will be raffled off among all participants. The closing date for entries is October 15, 2024.
