In the coming months, the gravestones in all municipal cemeteries in Salzgitter will be checked for their stability. This is mandatory and will be repeated annually, according to the Salzgitter municipal management company (SRB). In this way, damage or accidents caused by falling stones can be avoided in advance.

The expert, trained employees of the municipal management company carry out a pressure test on the gravestones. All unstable stones are marked with a sticker and, if necessary, secured against falling over.

Those entitled to use the graves whose stones bear a sticker or had to be secured are requested to ensure that they are fixed quickly and professionally.
