23 Children discover Salzgitter creatively

During the summer vacations, the Salzgitter Adult Education Centre (VHS) organized a creative voyage of discovery as part of the talentCAMPus (free vacation programme of the German Adult Education Association).

In the learning workshop at Salder Castle, the children make bracelets and key rings out of leather.

23 children and young people aged 9 to 14 went on a discovery tour under the guidance of Maximilian Sieker in the best summer weather during the first week of the vacation. He was supported by Melanie Schöckel and Zahraa Alshehadeh. Under the title "Creative start", they explored the fairytale trail in Greifpark and designed cards and bags in the afternoon with the help of lino printing.

On Tuesday, they visited Lichtenberg Castle and experienced a demonstration of the throwing machine. They also took their first photos on the subject of "perspective photography". With the help of a photo rally and the Spürnasen app, the group explored the pirate playground at Salzgittersee on Wednesday - in bright sunshine and high temperatures. Thursday's program included a visit to Salder Castle. There, the children and young people designed leather bracelets and key rings, among other things, in the learning workshop.

During the week, the group was also very busy on the computer, working on a leisure guide for children and young people, which shows Salzgitter from a new perspective and is intended as a guide for excursions.

Personal recommendations and insider tips from the children make this discovery tour a special experience, combined with creative and artistic activities for leisure activities.

Cooperation partners were the Hamberg children's and youth club (KJT), the city library and the City of Salzgitter's cultural services.
