Salzgitter Literature Festival: Informative, exciting, funny

At the beginning of September, literature will once again have its own stage for three days at the "Literature Festival" in Salzgitter.

From Friday, September 6 to Sunday, September 8, three very different events will take place one after the other in the Kniestedter Kirche in Salzgitter-Bad. Listeners can expect a varied, challenging and entertaining literary weekend: Sometimes informative and thought-provoking, sometimes exciting or funny, sometimes set in different times and sometimes with pictures and/or music.

"My Israel and me"

It starts on September 6 at 7.30 pm with a reading and illustrated lecture by Dr. Nicola Albrecht. The ZDF correspondent will read from her book "Mein Israel und ich - Entlang der Road 90". She talks about her journey along Road 90 from the Lebanese border to the Red Sea - not only the longest national road in Israel, but also the lifeline of the region. The audience is taken on a unique, very personal journey to people who have welcomed her - sometimes with "Shalom", sometimes with "Salam".

"You can't have a career without children"

The audience can look forward to a humorous evening on September 7 at 7.30 pm at the reading by satirist Ella Carina Werner. She will be reading from her humorous book "Man kann auch ohne Kinder keine Karriere machen. Stories from my life." In her fast-paced stories, she talks, smooches, drinks, argues and reflects on the big questions in life.

"The Count of the Moon Callisto"

On Sunday evening, September 8, at 6 p.m., the Münster-based ensemble "Theater ex libris" will once again be a guest at the Literature Festival - almost in keeping with tradition. They have a rather unusual and surprising version of the classic French novel "The Count of Monte Cristo" in their luggage. The plot of the resulting space opera "The Count of the Moon Callisto" is set in a fictional future and in space: around the moons of Jupiter in the year 2215, after humanity has freed itself from years of rule by artificial intelligence and proclaimed the Galilean Republic.
