In the "Westlich Michael-Ende-Ring" development area, 29 building plots will now be sold for the construction of detached and semi-detached houses. The plots range in size from 524 m² to 933 m². The purchase price for the plots is € 195.00/m². Building plot no. 22 with an area of 532 m² from the first construction phase of the Salzgitter-Gebhardshagen-Nordost development area is also to be offered for a purchase price of €195.00/m².
The city parliament also passed an updated statute on the definition of school districts for schools in Salzgitter. In addition, the existing door system at the main entrance to the town hall is to be replaced; an automatic sliding door system is to be installed. Monitors for a guidance system are also to be installed in the entrance area.
Daycare entry as part of play and learning groups will continue to be promoted: A corresponding submission on this was also on the agenda, which was also approved. At the suggestion of Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel, the ten daycare entry groups will be continued on the basis of the revised concept. He criticized the fact that "the federal and state governments repeatedly set up temporary programmes that were then successfully accepted locally. When they expire, however, the local authorities are then required to maintain and finance the programs." The federal program "Kita-Einstieg: Brücken bauen in frühe Bildung" ended in December 2022. The city stepped in at the time and continued to fund the program at its own expense until the end of January 2024.
This was followed by a "review of constituency allocation", which the council was informed about. In recent years, new development areas have been created across the city. Some of these have already been built on, are still in the construction phase or are in the planning stage. These development areas have created/are creating new streets and streetscapes that must be assigned to the existing electoral districts. Despite these extensive modifications, there are no changes for eligible voters in terms of polling stations and allocation to polling districts. This means that all eligible voters can continue to exercise their right to vote in the already known polling stations.
